The Project
in June of 2020, The Pokemon Lady, My mom, passed away from cancer. While trying to figure out a way to honor her memory, the story of the Pokemon lady, and the memories I have of how happy she was trading Pokemon cards with the neighborhood kids came to mind. This was how I wanted the world to remember her, so I came up with a plan.
Digging out her card collection from storage – 10 binders untouched for almost 20 years – I got to work meticulously scanning each and every card, doubles and all, to display on this site. Categorizing them by the binder they were in, keeping faithful to the way she physically organized her collection.
